Lore & Background
Cope named two new species: Coelurus longicollis and Coelurus bauri, the latter named after German paleontologist Georg Baur. Later that year, Cope reclassified the material into the genus Coelophysis, creating Coelophysis longicollis and Coelophysis bauri.
